WEEKLY NEWS LETTER 4/29
I hope everyone had a great week! We are rolling into May which means the school year is coming to a close!
The yard sale was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came out Saturday. Also a huge thank you to all those that donated items. We couldn’t have done it without you!
IMPORTANT CALENDAR CHANGES!!!
-EOY Tribes Square-Off/Cookout will be held on Monday, May 23rd from 9:00-12:00. This is still a full day of school and students must be dropped off at the school at regular time. If you are interested in volunteering we still have some positions available please email Mrs. Erica at email@example.com
-EOY Program/Graduation will be held on Tuesday, May 24th at 5:30pm @ MTI (Old Forest High). The 24th is also a half day of school with no aftercare.
-May 25th is a regular half day of school with no aftercare and is also the last day of school!
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
Monday marks the start of Teacher Appreciation Week. The week long celebration acknowledges the massive contribution and sacrifice that teachers make for the betterment of students and local communities every day.
Make sure you let your favorite teachers know how much you appreciate their efforts this week by thanking them for their efforts.
The Thursday night Computer Programming and Technology Club has concluded its scheduled meetings for the 2015-16 school year. We want to express our appreciation to Mr. Joe Fischetti who generously gave of his time and expertise to instruct and guide several of our Cornerstone students in the area of computer science. Mr. Fischetti is a retired computer engineer from General Electric. He has been an asset to our STEM program and we look forward to his continued support in the future.
The Cornerstone Minecraft Club has completed their scheduled meetings for the 2015-16 school year. We would like to thank Mr. Elliott Musikantow (Cornerstone School Information Technology Coordinator) for his excellent leadership of this club. We also owe a big thank you for several of our Cornerstone students that assisted Mr. Elliott.

STEM Schedule for the coming week:
- The Junior Engineering Club had a fabulous time completing the first part of a two-part STEM project this last week (Wednesday). With a little luck and a lot of hard work we will endeavor to complete our "Bird House" project. Next week (Wednesday - May 4) will be the last week for Junior Engineering Club.
- Girls Who Code continues meeting on Thursday evenings. Our next meeting will be Tuesday (May 3).
STEM Challenge CAMP!
The Cornerstone STEM Program is proud to announce our fourth annual STEM Challenge camp. This years camp will be held in the first week of August (Monday, Aug 1 - Friday, Aug 5).
Last year this camp filled quickly with over 40 campers in two age divisions. (Third - Fifth Grades and Sixth - Eighth Grades)
We will be doing robotics....rocketry....CAD design....computer programming.....electronic soldering....and so much more. Wednesday (August 3) will be our aquatic day featuring our Fabulous Annual Cardboard Boat Challenge.
The STEM Challenge Camp cost is 150.00 for the week which includes all activities....a day at the pool...t-shirt....daily snacks and lunches.
