We made it through our first semester!  I wish everyone a happy holiday and hope everyone has a fantastic break.  Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy New Years!  See everyone back in 2017!

Winter Sing Information

Winter sing will be held tomorrow, December 16th at 10:30 AM.  This is a half day with no aftercare.

Things to remember:

Bring 1/2 dozen homemade cookies to be dropped off in car line that morning.

Parking is available at Brick City (Please DO NOT park at Ocala Health & Rehab)


The back gate will be open from 10:00-10:30 & will be reopened from 11:30-12:30

When leaving with your child you must check them out with their teacher(s) Winter Sing

Spirit Day

Friday, December 16th is a Spirit Day.  The theme is elegant wear.  No donation required that morning due to the help and support of our Children's Home Society Gift Drive!

School Resumes
Teacher Workday
Tuesday, January 3rd, is a teacher's workday.  There is no aftercare available.

Where? - Forest High School (5000 SE Maricamp Road, Ocala)

What? - Junior FLL EXPO,  FLL Qualifying tournament,  High School robotics demonstration, STEM Activities for kindergarten - 12th Grade

STEM/ROBOTICS SCHEDULE for the coming few weeks (Dec. 19 - Jan 7)

There will be no robotics team practice for the Winter Holidays

When school reconvenes on Wednesday, Jan. 4.  we will be getting ready for our FIRST Lego League Junior and FIRST Lego League PREMIER EVENT for our season..


 Wednesday,   January 4 - 3:15 - 4:30  ALL FIRST Lego League Junior Teams will meet in the STEM Lab.

We will practice our presentations with the help of our Junior FIRST Lego League EXPO Master of Ceremonies...Ms. Lucy Johnson.

Thursday,  January 5 - 3:15 - 5:00 ALL FIRST Lego League Teams will meet in the STEM Lab.

We will practice our project presentations and robot performance

Thursday,  January 5 5:00 - 7:00 FTC Team will meet in the STEM Lab

We will review our team and individual responsibilities for the ROBOPALOOZA event.

Costa Rica

The Cornerstone School and the Costa Rican Resource are proud to announce

“The Cornerstone School Costa Rican Adventure”

The Cornerstone School and Costa Rican Resource (CRR) have partnered together to provide an educational opportunity to visit Cost Rica.  This trip is structured to provide an educational (and fun) opportunity for our Cornerstone students and families.  The adventure will be led by the professional staff of CRR ( and our very own Spanish language instructor, Ms. Diaz.


  • Departure date is tentatively set for May 31, 2017


  • San Jose, Costa Rica (and the surrounding area)


  • An 8-Day educational adventure tour in Costa Rica
  • The trip will be a homestay format (we will stay in the homes of Costa Rican families).  This is the best way to experience Costa Rican culture and practice our Spanish speaking skills.


  • Estimated cost is $2,400.00 (due to airline fare fluctuation we cannot give a specific price)
  • All participants will need to get a passport.
