National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is the nation’s leading institution dedicated to acknowledging exemplary students in Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Grades. The Cornerstone School’s NJHS Joe Schwartz Chapter gained its charter in 2001.

Beyond a mere accolade, NJHS exists to commend students who exhibit outstanding performance in Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship. These qualities have remained intrinsic to membership since the organization began in 1929. Currently, NJHS has over one million students across the United States. Being part of a NJHS chapter acknowledges students’ achievements and motivates them to enhance their growth through active participation in school initiatives and community service. Membership in NJHS is open to Middle School students who meet the required standards in the five areas of evaluation.
